Our soaps are made by hand from raw honey,
R/O filtered well water, all natural and all vegetable ingredients.
Our herbs are grown in our own garden, with no pesticides because we
love our bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Our soaps are made with
lye because without lye, you would not have soap. (Soap is what happens
when lye mixes with oils - but do not worry, the lye is gone when it
has become soap.) No artificial dyes are used. As a result, colors
vary a little with each batch, and shapes vary because they are all
hand poured and hand cut. Our soaps are sold by the ounce; sizes may
vary a little but we aim for approximately 3 ounces per bar.
We use East Cape New Zealand 100% manuka
essential oil in our soaps (excepting the Bug Off which uses ravensara instead).
Manuka oil claims to be 20+ times more healing than tea tree oil, and
is gentler to smell. As much as possible we use essential oils; when
they are not available we use a few fragrance oils for scents. Our herbs
also provide natural essential oils and healing ingredients. All of
our soaps have Vitamin E and are preserved with grapefruit seed extract.
Additionally, the manuka oil and other additives will assist in preservation.
Our soaps should keep on the shelf for a number of months, but we suggest
for hot/humid conditions and soaps with oatmeal, you may wish to refrigerate
the bars not in use. Please keep bars you are using in dishes that allow
them to drain; we do not recommend wooden dishes; as with all soaps,
do not allow them to sit in wet conditions that will cause them to become
gooey.
The
first time we used home made soap, our longstanding dry, scaly, itchy,
scratchy, crawly feeling disappeared. In its place we had skin that
felt relaxed, clean, awake, no more itch, moisturized, silky, and smooth.
After we did some research, we realized why. Commercial soaps skim off
the glycerine; they use animal products and harmful dyes and preservatives;
they leave a film on your skin that clogs your pours; often they dry
out skin and help cause rashes and irritations. We realized we were
also using products to which we had developed sensitivites. We wanted
to have clean, soft, healthy skin; skin that would heal quickly and
ward off rashes. Our skin is our largest body organ; whatever we put
on it is absorbed. AND for those worried about using non-kosher animal
products, we no longer have to wonder WHAT is in our soap or being absorbed
through our skin. We invite you to contact us and try our soap for yourself.
As with all products, should you find yourself
in contact with an ingredient to which you are sensitive, please discontinue
use; just because we only use natural items does not mean YOU might
not be sensitive to something - learn to know your own body. We cannot
be responsible for your individual differences. We have created recipes
that work well with our personal friends and family; we are sharing
them with you. We have included a comprehensive ingredients' list for
each soap; if you are sensitive to any of the ingredients, please do
not order that item. If you need something not listed, we will be happy
to work with you and/or your physician to prepare a product you CAN
use. Individual batches are available upon request, after consultation
with us. Prices of these special orders may vary depending on ingredients.

Our
soaps are priced at $1.00 per ounce plus postage/handling. Our bars
weigh "about" 3 oz. each. If you wish gift soaps to be packaged separately,
please inform us; all the same soaps are packaged in resealable bags
with an ingredients' list on the bag rather than the soap wrapper, so
that you can retain the list for reference - unless you tell us otherwise,
we will not put the same ones in separate bags.
When
you use our soaps, take an extra moment to lather; this will allow the
beneficial herbs and oils to do their thing. The results will be a cleaner,
healthier, silkier YOU.
Enjoy!
